There’s a difference between releasing three films in a series and releasing a film in three parts. Unfortunately, it appears “The Hunger Games” is in the latter category.
A surprisingly depressing movie. It was well produced; it could have had a great ending. Instead it had… basically nothing. It’s worse than a “bad” ending because it’s a “good” ending in the sense that it’s plausible, rational, and entirely predictable. And you’re thinking about it and you’re watching it and you’ve watched it and then… hollowness.
Serves me right, I suppose, for not doing my research first to discover that it’s only the first in a trilogy. Should have waited for all three on Netflix. Presumably when strung back-to-back they form a complete story.
