Many modern Sigma lenses allow you to calibrate the lens itself, using the Sigma Dock, aside from whatever the camera body might support.

Could you explain, please, how you calibrate autofocus on D5200? I understood from another discussions in web, that this iron isn’t available in this camera.

I since moved to a D7100, and initially left the adjustments the same, but continued having AF failures frequently, and general inaccuracy. I eventually got frustrated and reset the lens back to factory defaults (i.e. no micro-adjustments), and suddenly it became accurate and as reliable as any good lens. On the D7100.

I haven’t since gone back to the D5200 and tried it out – I assume it’s now out of whack again on that body just like it was when it came out of the box. That it works on my D7100 is good enough for me, for now. I’m not looking forward to the next body upgrade, though.

How’s the Sigma working for you now?
I have mine on an D7000 body and it has a big back-focus issue and it seems I can’t control it with an adjustment, but haven’t yet tried printed targets or a more lab-like approach.
