Quartz

A rock. Yep, exciting stuff. I have no idea what compelled me to think that a rock - millions of years old - would need to be carefully wrapped in tissue paper.

I think I had a rather limited understanding of precious stones... diamonds are valuable, therefore things which look like them must also be partly valuable. Although entirely logical, it doesn't apply in the case of quartz at least.

The scary thing is this was bought from somewhere. I'm thinking Gardenworld, although that's hazy and possibly a guess. Presumably those specs within the quartz are what's actually semi-valuable.
